Course Duration: 4 days

Successful candidates will be awarded an IOSH certificate in Managing Safely.

The IOSH Managing Safely course is designed to provide participants with a broad overview on health, safety and environmental topics. On completion of this course, participants will gain sufficient knowledge and skills to deal with health and safety issues. This four day program is accredited by the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Who should register for this course?

Supervisors, managers and team leaders in any sector and any organization who are required to effectively and efficiently be responsible for safety management of risks and resources. The IOSH Managing Safely program covers basic health and safety issues which also includes a short topic on environmental issues.

  • Understanding your responsibilities

  • Investigating accidents and incidents

IOSH WORKING SAFELY

Course Duration: 1 day training inclusive of written and practical assessments.

Should the delegates be successful with the assessments, they will be awarded an IOSH Working Safely certificate.

This basic one day course is designed to raise awareness of the importance of health and safety in the workplace. It provides individuals with an understanding of their duties, and to carry out work activities without risk to themselves or others.

This is an appropriate training to answer the question – Why we must work safely?

Who should register for this course?

All Individuals who wants to have a basic knowledge on the practice health and safety in the workplace.

Course Content:

To achieve the above goal, the training includes 5 modules which are as follows:

  • Introducing working safely
  • Defining hazard and risk
  • Identifying common hazards
  • Improving safety performance
  • Protecting the environment

IOSH MANAGING SAFELY IN CONSTRUCTION

Course Duration: 4 days

The course gives managers the knowledge and skills necessary to enable them to recognize the hazards likely to be present in the construction industry and the actions needed to control and manage them.

Who should register for this course?

Managers and senior staff who are required to manage efficiently and effectively in compliance with both their organization’s safety policy and current health and safety legislation.

Course Content:

After successfully completing the course, you will be able to:

  • Outline relevant health and safety legislation and specific codes of practice, guidance notes and know where to find information sources, and where to obtain advice and guidance on compliance
  • Explain how legal duties translate into managerial responsibilities
  • Distinguish between the duties/responsibilities of the employer and employee, client, contractor and sub-contractor
  • Be able to verify the competence of contractors and sub-contractors
  • Have an understanding of risk assessment and risk control
  • Describe the concept of unsafe acts and conditions
  • Be able to prescribe precautions relative to hazards
  • Know and understand the principles of statutory requirements of accident investigations
  • Know the importance of continuous active monitoring
  • Explain the importance of consultation with employees or their representatives and identify training needs.

IOSH HEALTH AND SAFETY AWARENESS FOR SENIOR EXECUTIVES

Course Duration: 1 day training which includes a short test and a brief practical assessment paper.

The training is designed to raise health and safety awareness and to provide Senior Management a framework on means of improving workforce safety, morale and loyalty. It is important that Senior Management are aware of their own liability and what actions need to be taken to reduce the likelihood of a criminal prosecution, a civil claim or both.

Who should register for this course?

Intended for people who are at the top level of management such as Directors and Senior Executives of companies who look after the organization’s moral, financial, and legal implications of effective health and safety management.

NEBOSH and APS announce new partnership

NEBOSH and the Association of Project Safety (APS) have announced a new partnership in order to promote competence in health, safety and risk management.

The partnership was confirmed through the signing of a memorandum at the Safety and Health Expo in Birmingham with NEBOSH Chief Executive Teresa Budworth and APS Head of Membership and Practice Greg Brown. Greg Brown said: “We are delighted at the opportunity to be working with NEBOSH to develop the practice of construction project risk management throughout the industry.”

The agreement marks the formalising of the commitment to looking into areas of mutual co-operation. Teresa Budworth stated: “We are excited by the prospect of being able to encourage safer practice in project and risk management within the construction sector.”

NEBOSH and APS are both committed to promoting competence within construction design and management. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is established as a leading health and safety award for the construction industry, with over 12,000 successful candidates since 1989.

The Association for Project Safety (APS) is the largest multi-disciplinary membership body in the UK for individuals and organisations involved in the design, planning and managing of construction projects as defined in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 [CDM2007]. They are committed to shaping and sharing best practice in construction health and safety .

Recognition of NEBOSH qualifications as meeting the construction health and safety academic criteria for APS professional membership provides an indication of the co-operation already achieved.

The NEBOSH National and International Certificates in Construction Health and Safety meet the headline entrance criteria requirements for Construction Safety Associate membership (AaPS).

In addition holders of either the NEBOSH National or International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and either the NEBOSH National or International Certificate in Construction Health and Safety meet the headline qualification entrance criteria requirements for Registered Construction Safety Practitioner (RMaPS)
